General Information
The Molenbeek Lock of is the eleventh from Charleroi, on the Brussels-Charleroi canal, which explains its number 11. Its plateau is used as storage for spare parts such as lockgates, closing beams, etc. Moreover, the lock houses the revenue office, (where the shipping permits are issued and where the various shipping and mooring taxes are levied for the Brussels Region and for the sections indicated by Flanders). Facilities for the evacuation of household waste are made available there for the users of the waterway.
